Ryan Askey:

Guitar. Ryan was born in East Sussex and grew up in Caterham, Surrey. He met Pete at primary school at the tender age of 5. His first guitar was a homemade effort consisting entirely of cardboard. It blended beautifully with Pete’s ‘pots and pans’ drum set and their first band ‘Iron Turd’ was born. Acquiring a real guitar by the age of 15, he quickly realised that rock ‘n’ roll was the only way of life for him.

However, diverted by a fascination with the human psyche, he qualified as Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, helping clients with early-onset psychosis among other conditions. “Being in a band is like being married to four other people, so my training really helps,” he observes dryly. His obsession with music however, refused to budge. His broad musical experience, playing in a variety of bands, has helped to shape his uniquely English approach to playing, melody and the art of song writing.
