Pete Humphrey:

Drums. Pete ‘the beat’ was born and raised in Caterham, Surrey. His musical journey began at the tender age of 2, whacking pots and pans at his grandmother’s every Sunday. Formal tuition from the age of 8 – 16 refined his intuitive gift for rhythm into a drumming style highly regarded amongst other musicians. “I was always influenced by the drummers, like Mark Brzezicki from Big Country, Mel Gaynor from Simple Minds and Stuart Copeland from The Police in particular. It’s his fault that school was such a bind! All I remember doing is sitting there, looking out of the classroom window, drumming on my desk with a ruler and pencil.” Playing in innumerable bands, frequently with his ‘oldest friend in the world, Ryan’, led him into the arms of ABOVE. “I’ve never stopped thinking about playing my drums to thousands of people. That’s what I’m here for basically. Love life, love music, love drums!”
